Bernard J. Luksich
Luksich has 25 years of experience in the computer industry ranging from the development of regional offices for a global telecommunications provider to the management of customer application development for the industry’s leader in Financial Services and Point of Sale technology.
He is currently the Executive Director of the Mehta Foundation. Under his leadership the Foundation has expanded their reach on two continents. The Foundation’s works is directed at improving the literacy of the economically disadvantaged and to providing greater access to education.
At Compaq Computer Corporation, Luksich had the overall responsibility for the engineering, delivery, and manufacturing of Compaq’s first 32 CPU industry standard servers. Previously at Compaq Luksich had the overall responsibility for providing the global engineering resources to deliver leadership technology solutions. In this role, he was innovative in the creation of new business models and development of sources for engineering talent that complement the entire spectrum of Compaq’s product line.
His tenure with Compaq has ranged from major customer activities to the strategy and partner development for Industry Solutions. He represented Compaq on the Texas A&M Computer Science Development Council and established a successful university centric model for the advancement of engineering research and development. He has served on a number of external advisor boards and directorships.
In addition, Luksich was responsible for a number of innovations including the first off shore development center, the first industry solutions group, the first automatic multi-operating system installation process and new business models for third party hardware support.
Before joining Compaq, Luksich worked at Motorola and NCR where he was responsible for the development of new point of sale and banking applications. He has a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University.
